Meet Our First Joey Champion: Malani
Every great movement starts with an idea — and the heart to turn that idea into action. The inspiration for Joeys Club began three years ago with Malani and her mum, Kat, who shared a dream of creating something that would help give koalas a stronger voice and inspire other kids to protect them.
Today, Malani proudly stands as the very first Joey Champion.
Together, Kat and Malani travel around Australia exploring koala populations, learning about the places koalas call home and the challenges they face in the wild. Their journey is more than an adventure — it’s a mission to raise awareness and stand up for one of Australia’s most loved but vulnerable animals.
Malani represents everything Joeys Club stands for — curiosity, compassion, courage, and action for wildlife. By sharing their journey and speaking up for koalas, Kat and Malani are helping inspire the next generation of conservation heroes.
