Hi Joey Club Families!
This month your Joey’s mission is all about trees, because trees are the homes and food for koalas.
Koalas spend most of their lives in trees, so protecting trees helps keep koalas safe.

🐨 Pouch Joey Quest (Ages 3–6): Find a Tree Buddy
- Go outside with a grown-up.
This could be in your yard, street, or a local park. - Find a tree you like.
- 👀 Look closely at your tree. Ask:
- Is the bark rough or smooth?
- Are the leaves big or small?
- Does the leaf smell like eucalyptus?
Give your tree a gentle hug 🤗. Now you have a Tree Buddy!
🎨 Draw a picture of your tree and a koala living in it.
Bonus Mission:
If you think you found a koala tree (a eucalyptus tree), ask a grown-up to take a photo!

Go for a walk with a parent or carer with your Koala Tree Guide.
- 👀 Look up at the trees around you.
- 🌳 Try to find a Koala Food Tree!
- ⤵️ Follow the Koala Tree Guide to help you identify them
Write or draw:
- how many trees you saw
- what the leaves looked like
- any animals you saw using the trees
Bonus Mission:
Take a photo or draw the leaves, gumnuts, flowers, and bark type if you find one.
